In a state with strong tobacco ties, the Kentucky House has passed a statewide smoking ban in public buildings and most workplaces. The lawmakers debate individuals’ rights versus public health concerns. The Democrat led House passed the measure with a 51-46 vote. This afternoon Perdomo Cigars sent out a letter to retailers thanking them for their loyalty and patronage. They also announced a price increase on some of their cigar lines. Perdomo will continue to absorb the SCHIP, however for only the 6th time in their 22-year company history they raising their prices. Bill LB118 inched closer to becoming a law as the bill advanced on Wednesday. The bill would update the Nebraska Clean Indoor Air Act to allow smoking in cigar and tobacco shop. In the first round of debates, initial support was received.
