Law: Richmond, KY Considers Smoking Ban

The city of Richmond, KY city commission on Tuesday will begin the process of passing a new, city-wide indoor smoking ban for public places. Several years ago, Madison County struck a ban but it was nullified when a Kentucky court ruling stated only elected bodies can enact smoking restrictions. The ban was put in place by the health department which was considered to be illegal. Richmond is home to 32,000 residents.

Law: Ashland County, Ohio Bans Tobacco On County Owned Property

Starting October 1st, there will be no tobacco use on Ashland County owned property, which of course includes cigars. The county commissioners passed the new ordinance on October 1st, and this will include next years Country Fair and Balloon Festival. Ashland Country is considered part of the Cleveland Plus area in the state of Ohio and has a population just under 53,0000.

Law: Millburn Township, NJ Smoking Ban

Tuesday night, August 20th the Millburn Township, NJ Committee worked on an ordinance that will ban smoking in and near municipal buildings, local parks and recreation areas.
