Add another town in Massachusetts has passed a new ordinance that will increase the minimum legal age to buy tobacco from 18 to 21. This time it is Arlington. Today the acting Director of Health and Human Services announced the change that will take place on July 1st. Arlington, Massachusetts also enacted a plan to ban tobacco sales at health care facilities and pharmacies.
Other than Hawaii which now has the whole state at the age of 21 to purchase tobacco, there is no other state with more cities and towns to raise the age from 18 to 21 than Massachusetts.
