Law | Evanston, IL Raises Smoking Age *UPDATED*

The Evanston, IL Human Services Committee will convene tonight (Monday, October 6th) and consider raising the age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21. The law would also require that any clerk selling tobacco products be at least 21 years old as well. Law | Illinois Looking to Expand Smoking Ban

The nanny state of Illinois is looking to expand its current smoking laws. The changes would ban smoking on all public patios, decks, rooftops and at beer gardens in Illinois. The proposal to make changes come despite a 2012 legislation that protected beer gardens and patios. The public can weigh in on the issue until September 29th.

Law: Illinois Bans Smoking at State Colleges

On Sunday morning, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation that prohibits smoking on the campuses of all state colleges and universities. The smoking ban takes effect on July 1, 2015 and applies to both indoor and outdoor spaces. According to Gov.
