Since 2011, Davidoff has celebrated the birthday of Avo Uvezian with a Limited Edition release in March. This continues to this day even after his passing in 2017. Like last year, the cigar is limited to 2,500 boxes to the US Market. According to Oettinger Davidoff AG Chief Marketing Officer Edward Simon “The AVO Improvisation 2020 is the eighth rendition of the highly anticipated annual series. Avo Uvezian believed that life is to be enjoyed fully […]

On the Cigar Authority this week we fired up a cigar from the Care Package, Acid Amigos. The cigar was relaunched as an exclusive to Two Guys Smoke Shop in 2018. Cigar Review: ACID Amigos Wrapper: Connecticut Shade Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua Length: 5″ Ring Gauge: 38 Size: Amigos (Petit Corona x 2) The Look: Packaged in the classic flip top ACID box, the Amigos are […]
Late in 2019 Pete Johnson released the Tatuaje Mexican Experiment II as a follow-up to his critically acclaimed release in 2012. Like the original release the cigar features the same core components of Mexican and Nicaraguan tobaccos and it is available in four sizes as part of an ongoing release whereas the original was a limited production with sizes limited to a specific region. Today we fire up the Belicoso which is our personal favorite […]
When it comes to RoMaCraft Cigars you need to be patient especially if you are in a high-volume cigar shop such as Two Guys Smoke Shop. The CroMagnon has been unavailable since the fall of 2019 and before that Neanderthal had its fair share of back orders before shipping on a regular basis again, though some will argue the cigar isn’t the same while others like me will argue it’s even better then ever. Well, […]
This week on The Cigar Authority we took a look at the top 10 strongest cigars. We started the show with the Camacho Corojo which was part of the The Cigar Authority Care Package. The cigar came in at number 10 on our list. According to the Camacho website, “The story of the infamous Corojo seed spans generations, breaks boundaries, defies convention, and flies in the face of compromise — all in a quest to […]
When is a barber pole, not a barber pole? The answer in my book is when it’s the Neanderthal Genetic Deformity. The cigar features the wrapper of the Cromagnon Aquitaine (Habano) and Cromagnon (Broadleaf) but unless you look closely you might miss it. Technically speaking, it is a barber pole but it doesn’t have the definitive contrast in wrappers we all associate with the type of cigar. Cigar Review: Neanderthal Genetic Deformity Wrapper: Habano / Broadleaf (Barber […]
The World Cigar Smoking Championship by Rocky Patel ushers in a new decade for the Cigar Smoking World Championship. The Cigar Smoking World Championship is an international competition of “slow smoking” of cigars. Competitors compete in how slow they can smoke their cigar with time penalties given for such things as breaking your ash or burning the competition ring (cigar band). The official size of the competition is the 5 1/8 x 42 Mareva which, in 2019, was smoked non-stop from the initial light for 3 […]
This weekend on The Cigar Authority we celebrated Dos Hombre Day marking 30 years of the brand. As a bit of a cigar geek, I’ve always looked at bundle cigars with a bit of disdain. However, when you smoke as many cigars are I do, upwards of 6 cigars a day you need to find an affordable smoke or you will wind up in the poor house. We featured the Dos Hombre Dominican Toro in the […]
The Eiroa family knows Corojo and it all started with the original Camacho line prior to the sale to Davidoff. The Eiroa story of Corojo continued in 2012, when Christian started from scratch with a new company, CLE Cigars. The CLE Corojo was part of the initial brands released by Christian Eiroa and in 2017 the brand would get a face lift along with other cigars in the portfolio. The result is a line with better […]
