Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Toro

Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Toro Cigar Review

The Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Toro is produced by J.C. Newman and manufactured at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic. Released to celebrate J.C. Newman’s 115th anniversary, the blend features an Ecuadorian Havana-seed wrapper over Dominican binder and filler tobaccos.

The cigar features a matte medium-brown Maduro wrapper with a slight oily sheen and a somewhat rustic appearance. The wrapper carries noticeable toothiness and visible texture that gives it an aged look.

The opening profile delivered toasted bread, oak, hickory, and leather with creamy coffee notes layered throughout. There were hints of barnyard, vanilla baking spice, cinnamon root beer, cayenne-dusted peanuts, black pepper, and clove. The cigar opened with a touch of spice that settled quickly into a smooth and balanced profile.

The middle portion became darker and nuttier with stronger leather, toast, creamy peanuts, caramel, and light spice notes. Root beer flavors became more pronounced with stronger anise characteristics while black pepper and clove increased. A lingering charred meat note mixed with nutmeg added depth and richness.

The final third transitioned into earthier territory with grassy and woody notes joining espresso-like coffee flavors. Leather remained present while black pepper, nutmeg, clove, licorice, and charred meat notes carried through the finish. The coffee flavors became stronger and richer toward the end of the cigar.

The Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Toro offered a smooth, flavorful smoking experience with mellow aged tobacco characteristics and a dark, balanced flavor profile that never became overwhelming. The flavors complemented each other well throughout the cigar, especially the combination of coffee, leather, spice, and sweetness. The overall score was affected by very mixed experiences regarding the construction performance, and draw preference among the reviewers.  Despite this the cigar is one many reviewers would smoke again.
