Diamond Crown No. 4 Cigar Review

Diamond Crown No. 4

In commemorating the illustrious 100-year legacy of the J.C. Newman Cigar Company in 1995, Stanford Newman and Carlos Fuente, Sr., embarked on an extraordinary journey to craft a series of Super Premium cigars. Their ambition knew no bounds, and the result of their laborious endeavor was nothing short of extraordinary—the Diamond Crown cigar.

The Diamond Crown No. 4 greets the eye with a golden brown Connecticut shade wrapper, adorned with pronounced veins. Though well packed, some STARS noted a recurring flaw in its cap, an imperfection amidst its otherwise impeccable facade.

Upon lighting,  black pepper dances upon the palate with a tangy flourish. As the journey unfolds, nuances of hay and nuttiness intertwine seamlessly, accompanied by a delicate hint of salt. Yet, it is the subtle undertones of buttery sweetness reminiscent of Nilla Wafers that elevate this experience.

As the journey progresses into the second third, the palate is enveloped in a blanket of vanilla sweetness, complemented by the emergence of cedar notes and the lingering presence of cashew nuttiness. Leather nuances subtly weave into the flavor profile, adding depth to the experience, albeit accompanied by a fleeting bitterness typical of Connecticut wrapper cigars.

Entering the final third, the Diamond Crown No. 4 maintains its graceful consistency, with grassy hay notes persisting alongside a resurgence of salt and buttery undertones. While the sweetness recedes, the pepper spice gains prominence, concluding the journey on a satisfyingly balanced note.

Overall, the Diamond Crown No. 4 leaves an indelible impression as a phenomenal cigar, offering a smooth and consistent smoke with intriguing flavor nuances, particularly suited for aficionados seeking a milder strength option. Its perfect pairing with a morning cup of coffee enhances its appeal, while its commendable burn and draw further elevate the smoking experience.
